Suns Game

Last night Jordan and I went to the Suns vs. Miami Heat basketball game. It was an early Christmas present I got for him.

The day before the game I put the tickets in a card and snuck it into his bag that he took to work that day. A few hours later... I get a text... "In a meeting, but wow I love you!!! Suns heat baby!!... Thanks your the best!" Haha :)

It was pretty cool at the game. We had lower level seats, which was awesome! We saw Jordin Sparks (she sang the National Anthem) and she was AMAZING!!! Muhammad Ali was there!!! As well as Larry Fitzgerald, Darnell Dockett and John McCain. But Dwayne Wade wasn't at the game :( that's one of Jordan's fav. players.

Temples

I went to the temple with my friend 2 weeks ago. What a wonderful experience. I took this picture with my phone, from the parking lot, on the way to my car. Just on the other side are all the Christmas temple lights. We haven't gone yet to see them but plan on going soon! They're always so beautiful. I'm so grateful that we're getting a new temple built just down the road! I might even be able to see it from my balcony (that would be awesome)!

We went to the temple ground breaking in November. I've been to 1 other ground breaking and it was for the Rexburg, ID temple. What a neat thing to witness. I can't wait for the open house and dedication for the Gilbert Temple! I've never been to an open house or dedication. I'm looking forward to them and especially attending the temple once it's finally done!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year! I have so much to be thankful for and I am so lucky to have such amazing friends and family.

We spent Thanksgiving with our friends and their family. We ate some delicious food, played a few rounds of corn-hole and a game of Acquire. Then went out to a movie that night. It's always a good time with the Bocks! I'm grateful for their kindness and always thinking of us.

Paul's Baptism

Our friend Paul got baptized on Sunday Oct 24th. What a wonderful experience to have shared with him. I'm so happy that he has chosen to follow the right path and I know that Heavenly Father has a very special plan for him on this earth. I love to see fellow converts make that transformation in their lives, it reminds me of my conversion story and makes my testimony of the gospel become stronger. I am grateful for Jordan and his example not only to me but to those around us.

One of the missionaries, during the service, said "there is no other miracle in the world, greater than what we just witnessed." He gave an example that if he saw a missionary bring a dead man back to life through the power of God- it would not exceed the amazingness of baptism. For the man who was brought back to life will die again, but baptism is eternal. I'm not sure if I wrote it exactly as he said it, but I hope you get the picture!

Ahhh. In 2 weeks we get to go home! I can't wait. Although I loooved being near the beach and I really enjoyed the weather here, enough is enough. I'm counting down the days, hours and minutes until we get to go home. If we get lucky, we might even be home for Halloween night so I can pass out candy to the little vampires, princesses, rock stars, or crime fighting action heroes that visit our home on their way through the neighborhood :)

I've already thought of what I need to do when we get back. AFTER we get to see all of our dearly missed friends!!! :) :)

1st: tackle the garage. it's a disaster. I'd like to actually be able to park a car in there, or maybe turn it into a fun game room, food storage or possibly a room for pup?

2nd: steam clean our carpets. we neglected to get them cleaned before we moved in (it's a little disturbing when I think of it now and how many people probably walked through that house while on the market or when the previous owners were there... yucky)... the living room has a huge stain in the center of the room and there are a few other spots here and there.

3rd: landscape the backyard. we've got weeds and dirt back there right now. I would love to plant some grass, get a nice patio set and a bbq grill. maybe built a little fire pit and plant some trees and flowers. nothing too elaborate, just enough to make it a little more like home.

4th: window treatments. my windows are all curtain less... I got a bunch for my birthday, but I haven't hung them up yet.

5th: fix the bathtub. I'm not sure about you but I love taking baths! the water comes out cold and when I turn the knob to hot the water shuts off... so sad. anyone know a plumber that could walk me through fixing something like that?!

6th: organize and replenish our food storage. Robyn and I have been trying to go canning forever ;) maybe we'll get the chance to!

7th: plan a trip to new york.

8th: have game nights :)

9th: take Jordan to Brio... his absolute favorite restaurant.

10th: get ready for the company cruise to Mexico in November!

We got a puppy a few days ago! He's super cute and very smart! He learned how to sit, shake and stay... in just a day or two! :) His favorite toy is a red and yellow fish Jordan picked up at Walgreens. The kitties haven't warmed up to him yet, but I'm sure they'll be best buds in no time.

Six Flags

About a month ago, our office went to Six Flags. It started off fun for me, and then I got really sick on the 3rd ride. That one had a lot of jerky turns and my head kept hitting the shoulder pads and on the last turn I hit my head so hard that everything turned black and I literally saw stars! And felt sooo sick after that. I had to sit out on a lot of the rides, and I only got 1 good picture.

Towards the end of the night I finally started feeling better. I think our last ride of the night was Terminator! It was really fun! Soooo fast... and being in the dark made it even better. BUT, I'd have to say, the BEST part of the ride was when it stopped and I looked over at Jordan and his hair was standing straight UP!!! If you've ever seen Tommy Boy, you know the part when they're in the factory and Tommy turns on that engine? Ha and the guy's toupee flies up--- well, that's what J's hair looked like. Hilarious :)

Our last stop while walking towards the gate to leave, was at one of those "Guess your Age/Weight" booths. I told J "can I give it a try, I know he'll never guess my age right!"... J said of course, and I walked up onto the booth to have the man guess my age. He said confidently, "well, lets see... you look just barely legal... I'm going to say 18." "Nope, I'm 24!" People standing around the booth all laughed and I got a free prize :) I look very young for my age, I always get questioned whenever they see that I'm married. I guess that's a good thing... when I get to my 40's!

This is Beth...
I used to help take care of her and I spent a lot of time simply enjoying her company...
We loved to sit outside in the sun and count the airplanes that flew by, watch the neighbor's palm tree sway in the wind, write letters to old friends, go out to lunch at Sweet Cakes and sometimes Arbys, watch shows like Golden Girls or Little House on the Prairie, fold laundry together, go on walks, pick flowers, and just have a fun conversation.
She enjoyed getting her nails painted, having her hair curled, using the word 'Marvelous' and she would laugh so hard every time I would help her into my car... She thought it was hysterical, such a little person as me, trying to lift her into my suv... It was too cute and I'm going to miss all the laughter and her company, most of all. I am grateful to have had her in my life this past year. I'm sad she is gone but more feelings of joy come when I think that she is with her loved ones again and not suffering or in any pain anymore.

A weekend in Arizona

Jordan and I drove to AZ a few weekends ago for our friend's wedding. It was sooooo nice to be HOME and to sleep in our own bed! I could have slept all weekend! I miss our house and our ward and our friends in AZ. But less than 2 months and we'll be back :) I'm looking forward to that!

Well, we got into Gilbert around 3pm... just in time to walk around the SanTan Mall a little bit before Jordan had to leave for his rehearsal in Mesa. He was a groomsman in the wedding, a very handsome one, if I might add :) I stayed around the Mall and then went home and put away the tubs of stuff I brought home from CA... And just sat on the couch for a while, in the silence. It was really nice actually. Then I reallyyy had to go to the bathroom and realized -Oh No! I had the water turned off before we left for the summer.... So I had to drive down to the store and use theirs! Also, my car's air conditioning went out just before we left for the summer, which is why we left it in AZ until we got back from CA to fix it, but I forgot about that and I had to drive all weekend without AC!! And back to my no water situation from earlier... well Jordan and I had to shower at the LA Fitness down the road. It was kind of a hassle but I'm glad we still had our gym memberships or else we would have been a stinky couple, spoiling a wedding with our stench!

The wedding was on Friday, and it was great! I'm sooo happy for them :) I've got a few pictures below. But my day did not start off too well! First, had to lug all my stuff over and shower at LA Fitness... then I decided I'd bring home lunch for Jordan and I before he had to leave to get ready for the wedding. Burger King is right down the road so I stopped quick to grab some food... while in the drive thru, I noticed something fall on the floorboard and realized it was one of my earrings. The particular earrings I'm talking about are the pair that Jordan bought be right before we got married. They're my favorite pair of earrings and I wear them everyday. They have my birthstone too. Anywho, I find the earring, but the back of it is nowhere to be found. I'm looking down, trying to find it and BAM!!!!!!! My heart stopped. I looked up... and I had hit the car in front of me in the drive thru while he was ordering his food!!!! I totally thought I had my foot on the break the whole time I was looking for my earring... but I guess it wasn't and my car kept creeping up, closer and closer to the car in front of me. OH MAN! I felt horrible. Then I saw the owner of the car look at me through his side mirror like he wanted to kill me. He looked like one of those guys who baby his car. It was a clean, shiny, and new looking Honda Civic. Immediately I apologized and told him I wasn't paying attention and just so so sorry. I think I freaked him out how apologetic I was being... He checked out the damage, or lack there of (thank goodness), and looked at me and said, "It's good! We're good... Nothing happened, don't even worry about it." I was very grateful that no damage occurred and he was so nice about it. I still can't believe I did that.

A Summer in California...

The weather here is perfect. I love the nights when I can open all the windows and feel the cool breeze come in. During the day it get's hot, as in 90 degrees not 110+ like Arizona! The beaches are close. I love feeling the sand between my toes, playing beach volleyball and watching the waves crash into the coast.

The picture above is from 4th of July weekend in San Diego (Mission Beach). Jordan and Danny went surfing. They had a fun time, although J was really sick. :(

Jordan got a scooter! It's pretty fun to ride around on... I'm too much of a chicken to drive it by myself though, so I just have him take me around on it.

It's already April? My last "real" post was in February... what happened to March? I feel as if it just blew right by!

I suppose I have a bit of catching up to do. Let's see...

I had a nice 24th birthday in Feb. :) I got to spend it with friends and Jordy. We had a pretty fun time. I can't believe I'm already 24. I feel like I just graduated from High School not too long ago. I see my old high school friends on facebook and they're getting married and starting families and it's all crazy to me how fast we grow up!

On the 30th of March, Jordan and I celebrated our 3 yr Anniversary! We had Olive Garden for lunch and ended up going to the Easter Pageant at the Mesa Temple. It was amazing.

My resolutions include:
Getting in shape
Eating healthier
Saving money where-ever possible (especially groceries)
Doing my family history work (genealogy)
Food storage/72-hour kits
Be a better wife, daughter, sister, aunt
and a few more important things

So far I have been slacking on a few of my resolutions, but if I keep myself motivated I know I can accomplish them. It's so easy just to stay home rather than get to the gym, which is only a mile down the road. I need someone to get me up and get out there. The weather is amazing right now, perfect for tennis. If any one near me wants to play, I'm your gal!

On the other hand I have been able to save on groceries... It can be more work than usual, and it definitely requires a lot of planning but coupons really do help you save money when you use them right. (Using coupons when the item is on sale is the *key* in saving money. Using a coupon on an item at full price helps, but you could be spending a lot less if you wait for that particular item to go on sale)

I went to my local Fry's with all my printed out coupons and purchased all the food above for $16 (before all discounts = $63). And the food below I spent $26 (before all discounts = $83). If anyone in interested in knowing more, I can help them. I am just learning the ways of couponing, but I can try my best to show you what I know!

One recent event we had was Jordan's family came to visit, for 10 days. It felt like 2 and I wish they could have stayed longer. It was nice having them stay with us and spending time with them. It makes me want to be in NY! I miss my family there, and Jordan's as well. Hopefully we'll be able to visit after the summer. I think we appreciate our families more because we are away from them, it makes us realize how important they are.

Do you remember the owl from my last post? Well we all went for a walk around the neighborhood and we saw another one… or could have been the same one. I thought it was pretty neat…. and crazy how his head can turn alllll the wayyyy around!

But the greatest thing in January to happen was that Jordan and I got sealed in the Mesa, AZ Temple. It was and will be the most sacred experience in my life that I will cherish forever. Words are not sufficient enough to describe the love and such overwhelming feelings of joy I felt that day, as I looked into Jordan’s eyes (when I wasn’t crying) and could see our future together.

I am such a proud wife of a guy who not only works hard to support our family,but is smart, funny, athletic, caring, lovable, and a guy who inspires little kids to want to come to church. Jordan and I both have a calling in the primary, which we started just a few weeks ago. I teach a very sweet class of 5 year olds, and Jordan teaches a great group of 6 year olds. Last Sunday, someone came up to me and told me how one particular boy in Jordan's class always argued with his mom and had no desire to come to church. Something must have changed because recently, he wants to attend church, and when his mom asked him what brought on this change he said, "because of Brother Murray."

It made me tear up.

I love him.

And I hope I can inspire the little ones in my class, as well as those around me.

I hope she doesn't mind me doing this! I had a friend attend church with me a few weeks ago, and she recently started taking the discussions with the sister missionaries :) And I am excited to share that she is getting baptized. The big day is set for Dec. 26th! I am so happy for her, especially after a devastating loss of her fiance less than two months ago. I have been helping her plan out her baptism details and it brings back memories of my baptism...

November marked my 5th year as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love the gospel and have an overwhelming love of the savior. I often wish my family could share this great blessing with me, for I am the first in my family to join the church. I hope someday they will learn what I know and be able to experience all that I have.

Our quick visit to Trumansburg

Two weekends ago, Jordan and I got to fly to New York for a quick visit. We received a call involving a death in the family. We got the sad news that Jordan's grandpa Murray had passed away. He was a great man, and always such a pleasure to be around. I didn't know him very long, but who would need to, to know how great of a guy he was. At first, we didn't expect to make it, but then decided it would be nice to surprise J's family and come up for the weekend. We bought two tickets to Rochester, and reserved a rental car, in hopes that our surprise visit would make up for us not being with our families for Christmas. (I love that my dad and J's family are just a 10 minute drive from each other, it makes our visits so much easier!) But, our surprise didn't go as planned after we missed our first flight! We had to spoil the fun and call my mother in law to let her know we were coming and that we needed a ride from the Syracuse airport!

The funeral was peaceful and I loved hearing the stories of Grandpa Murray at his memorial service. What a sense of humor he had! As for the rest of our time there, it was much needed... the laughter, the games, the nephews and siblings, yummy food, snowfall and a nice testimony meeting in our old branch all made our trip enjoyable. Speaking of church, I got to announce my "good news minute!" For those of you thinking what's a "good news minute?!" It's a time for us ladies, to share something that is happening, will happen or has happened in our life recently with the other sister's at church. Hence... "good news" minute :) Well my good news is that Jordan and I are going to be sealed, for time and all eternity, in the Mesa, Arizona Temple in January. I am excited, and my heart beats out of my chest every time I think about it! :)

So... pretty much every post I am wearing the same gray sweater or sweat shirt, rather. Jordan makes fun of me for calling a sweat shirt a sweater (i think it might be a southern thing). He says, sweaters do not have zippers, or hoods, they are something you would wear to church or with a nice pair of jeans.... sweat shirts can be baggy, have hoods, be worn over sweaters, used more for comfort than looks.... But anyway, I am getting off subject.... I need a new sweater. I feel silly when I look back at my past blogs and see that blob of gray in every photo of me! Hopefully Santa will fill my need this Christmas! :)

There were winding roads, tent troubles, skunk sightings, never-ending camping advice from a local, smores and hot dogs, games, shooting stars, and some girl talk while the guys were getting some much needed firewood...It was pretty fun! have been the highlight of our weekends here in AZ. We get together with our friends, Robyn and George, once a week (sometimes twice lol) and play games... we have snacks and silly conversations and just an all around fun time. We like: Ticket to Ride, Acquire, dominoes, card games (Hearts and Spades).... Pirates Cove, Settlers of Catan, Risk, Apples to Apples and catchphrase are other games we enjoy. So if anyone wants to join us, you are more than welcome!! :)

When was the last time you made caramel apples? Me? um.... too long to remember! Jordan and I spent a nice night together, we got pizza and wings, watched our favorite show, Smallville, and hand dipped some sweet treats. It was fun and something we enjoyed doing together.

Look at the size of the apples we got from the store... they are huge compared to the regular ones. I forgot their name, but they were delicious!!

I recently attended a Relief Society enrichment activity to see the Joseph Smith Movie at the Mesa Temple Visitors Center. I can't imagine all the prophet Joseph Smith and his wife Emma had to endure. I am deeply grateful for Joseph, his faith, and restoring the true church... and of course, having the gospel in my life!

A few weeks ago, one of our kitties, Thomas "Tom", had to be put to sleep :( I was so sad, I cried for a few days... It was heartbreaking not to be able to help him. He was such a nice cat, very affectionate and easy to love. Even though it was hard not to miss him, we decided to get another kitten... especially because our other cat, Jerry, was so lonely. We got an orange and white kitten, we named her Tiger Lily, Lily for short... And just a week ago, I realized Lily wasn't a girl at all! So our sweet little girl, is now a rambunctious lil guy with way too much energy for Jerry to handle!

We bought a cat condo for Jer and kitten (we still haven't figured out a name for him)... they are too cute.

I printed it out and am going to clipboard it to the inside of my pantry door.

Lately, I have been having the urge to build up our food storage. It hasn't been a very easy task in the past 2 years due to all the moving around. I can already see and feel the blessings coming from the amount of work put into our very small, but growing food storage... "something I wish I had been experiencing this whole time!"

I recently read a blog in which she gave a calendar of items that go on sale each month. This is extremely helpful to people like me that have no idea of when and what to buy!

August 3rd was Jordan's Birthday! We had a few friends over, played Skip-Bo and Apples to Apples.... We had pizza and buffalo wing dip. I tried to tie "23" and Jordan's love of Basketball together for his cake... Soooo what better than Michael Jordan (#23)... It turned out a lot better than I anticipated! :)

"i don't want to fall out"

Jordan and I went whitewater rafting on Saturday... and "i don't want to fall out" is what I kept repeating to Jordan while on the 10 minute bus ride to the starting point of our trip. While on the bus, the tour guide thought he was being funny and scared me a little too much about falling out of our raft and "dying!" He actually said you could DIE. And he said not to try and stand up if I happened to fall out because the current would pull me under and I would "die." UGH. I was so nervous and hearing him say that did not comfort my nerves! But by the middle of the trip I realized there was nothing to be worried about and he was just exaggerating!

I recently started 1.5 jobs. One as a cashier at Target, and the .5 is just fill-in work in the office that Jordy works for, on an as needed basis. I went from none to two and I am very grateful and excited. :) Oh, and working at "Tarjay" I get a 10% discount!ALSO.....Happy Father's day! I hope every dad had the best day and really got to enjoy spending time with their families!

I'm not sure if everyone is aware of Redbox. It is an amazing thing, let me tell ya. You rent a $1 movie... $1.09 to be exact and just return it before 9pm the next day. Well, my friend gave me a *free* code, not that a dollar is much but with this economy I guess saving just a single dollar here and there makes a big difference. The code is DVDONME. I cheated and have used it 6 times. The trick is to used a different debit/credit card each time you use the code.... is that bad that I can actually use 6 different cards? Credit cards are evil. haha. And I have 2. Which means Jordan has 3 and we have 1 bank card. Sometimes they do come in handy, like when your car breaks down, or purchasing an airline ticket, or building your credit. But they also hurt your credit more than they do good, and when you think, "oh I'll just use my credit card today, it wont hurt", then 20 times later you have a bill bigger than Texas. I guess I'm getting a little sidetracked but Redboxes are superduper and a cheap way of entertainment.

Hmmm... Oh yes, I wanted to mention our BBQ Sundays. Every sunday since we've been working out here in Knoxville we have had an employee bbq. Usually it consist of some type of game, like football, corn hole, frisbee or just a swim in the pool. It's fun and makes the stresses of the week fade away. We look forward to it every week and I'm glad we can all enjoy a day together.

Earlier this week the wives/girlfriends of all sales reps had a little craft day. We made sales tracking posters for all the guys to keep them motivated and striving for their goals. Jordan had all the sales reps write down their goals, big or small, weekly and monthly so we could make sure to incorporate them on their poster. Each one was unique and personally related to their interests. It was a fun little project and a nice way to get to know the other girls out here. We had snacks, fun conversations and just an all around good time making these posters, which I heard all the guys loved!

Here is Jordan's... for each sale, he moves up the basketball net. 125 is his total summer goal, and the 3 highlighted ones are his monthly goals.

Today I walked around the World's Fair Park in downtown Knoxville. They have a Sunsphere there that you can take an elevator to the top and see the whole city (for free!). There was a fountain for kids to run through, which was perfect for the hot, sunny day today. It was a nice relaxing day and I'm sure I will be there a few more times this summer.

is such a pretty place to be. I am truly happy with the choice of coming here this summer, and very pleased with how it has been the past few weeks. I have been enjoying spending time with the other wives/girlfriends and am looking forward for what may come. There are lots of fun things to do around here, or at least an hour's drive away... I always forget my camera but hopefully I can update you (the few readers I have, hehe) with some pictures!
As for Jordan, he is working notably hard and doing awesome. I am very very proud of him and how he can balance all the things he has on his plate and yet, be positive and determined. He's such a trooper and I love him.

I have a bit of catching up to do...

Well lets see. The night of April 23, I crawled into bed around 3 am (silly of me staying up that late to watch a movie, but anyway...) and woke up to my sister calling (around 6 am) to tell me she was heading to the hospital for contractions. I got up, showered, packed the car (because I needed to take all the things we needed in Tennessee for the summer at that time), gave Jordan and big, long kiss and hug goodbye, and started driving to Texas. It was around 8 am by the time I got on the road.... So with only 3 hours of sleep, I managed to make the long drive, and I got there around 1:30 am! I drove straight through! Well, with the occasional gas and potty break I got there in about 17 hours... Oh and not to mention I had to bring the kitties with me! They are very good sports when traveling and slept pretty much the whole time, which I was very grateful for

SO, when I arrived at the hospital Linda was doing well, feeling the effects of that epidural... I was able to drop the cats off at her apartment, grab some real food and head back over just in time for her to begin pushing. I won't go into detail but a few pushes later, around 5:25 am saturday morning, baby Chamiyu (cha-my-you) was born! He was 7lbs 4oz. And so little and cute.

By the time I got back to my sister's apt, I had been awake for a loooong time (over 28 hours) and needed sleep or I was going to fall over. I did eventually get to sleep around 10:30 am, and it was much needed!!

Jordan and I are both in Tennessee for the summer. Jordan's working hard and doing well. Knoxville is nice and we enjoy being here, despite the fact that we do miss our house a lot. I am currently on a job hunt, and can't wait to start working.

Lastly, a few days ago was Mother's Day; and I hope all the Mothers out there had a wonderful day and a great time with their families :)

Jordan wasn't feeling too well, we just relaxed at home. I made some yummy chocolate cupcakes with vanilla icing and pastel colored sprinkles. I also surprised Jordan with easter basket I filled with some favs of his. I tried to hide it the night before in the pantry, thinking to myself "oh he won't go in here" ha... little did I know he would search through the pantry for a mid-night snack and I couldn't help but giggle and hope he wouldn't look UP and see my surprise...(he heard me and was like "what's the matter, what did I do??"... "what, did you pass gas or something?!"... "no, no... it's NOTHING," I said... luckily he didn't see it and I was safe (except for my husband thinking I was looney!) Later that day we enjoyed a nice dinner, curled up on the couch with the kitties and watch a movie.

Tomorrow is 3*30*09 which marks our 2 year ANNIVERSARY! I am lucky to have someone that can tolerate my goofyness, my lazy days, my sickly days, my not-so-funny jokes, my silly dance moves, my cooking, my sometimes annoying ways of making sure things line up and/or not crooked (which drives meeee crazy), my great moments, my down moments and never once judged me about my past or the things I do now. Soooo... My best friend Jenny (since elementary school), her lil one Alyssa (also my Goddaughter), and her mom Carolina came to visit!! They planned a stop here in AZ on their long drive from Washington to Texas... It was such a nice feeling being able to see some familiar faces and have them meet Jordan! I wish they could have stayed forever... well, just until we head out for the summer... which is actually just around the corner!

Here are a few pics from my birthday... Jordan is so sweet and planned a get together at our house. He surprised me in the morning with a kitchen fully decked out with a banner, and balloons... there were about 10 small balloons, just the blow up kind, scattered on the counter tops. They aren't in any of the pictures because by the time I got my camera ready to go, JERRY our cat, popped all of them! He is a little stinker. He even ate a few... which to my surprise, came out in the litter box the next day!

Wow, I’ve never seen a town light up so much in the last few days. It’s been a riot here with the Cardinals making it to the Super Bowl this year. I am not a hard-core football fan; I usually just watch it if someone else has it on, never really going out of my way to find the game on TV. I guess I don’t know too much about the sport, or I would be a little more interested. I did take stats for the football team at my high school during my senior year, but it wasn’t really that informative.
I am excited for the team and it is cool to see everyone around here all decked out in their jerseys and stocking up on snacks for the big game. I was getting my hair cut, just chatting with the stylist, and she told me the Cardinals have never been to the Super Bowl (unless you count back in 19 twenty or forty something when it wasn’t actually called a “super bowl”), and pretty much aren’t that good. They are the underdogs in football, but to the people here they are more like inspiration. Go Cardinals.

Happy New Year! I extend, to all those who some how come across this blog, a prayer that you and your families have a great '09. The economy's not so wonderful right now and we should all be prepared someway or another....I wish you the best and hope no jobs will be lost, houses taken, or shortages of food, and for your health and safety as well.

I have two big resolutions for the new year.....

1) I am cutting out the junk food, late nights, s t r e s s, and my UNmotivation to get to the gym. I need to get my body healthy again! I feel sick way too much for my age and I know its because of the way I treat my body. I have no energy, eat candy and bad snacks, drink too much soda and think way to much about things that don't really matter, and on top of that, my sleep patterns are all wacky. I need some healthy recipes/foods, advice on a good workout regime, maybe good suggestions for books to keep my mind busy and just some motivation. If you have any thoughts please let me know! :)

2) This is more of a family resolution between Jordan and me.... well we decided to make a budget with our money... I have usually been good with balancing my "wants" and "needs" with my money but sometimes I just get that urge to splurge... As I look back at the things we bought and how much they were my stomach just turns. Half the stuff we don't even USE! Ah. So it's a good thing Jordan brought up this great idea. We plan to be very organized and more wise with our spending... I just know how much Jordan likes his toys, this is going to be hard for him. Me too, but I think if we just work together it will all be fine!

As you can see from the pictures, I had to do a little improvising tonight since our Christmas tree is completely buried in the back of our storage unit.

Thanks to Lindsay for sending a tree garland, which she might have thought to be just some extra cushion in the package for Jordan and me, but turned out to be the main decor in my new Christmas tree/lamp!!

Cats must have an instinct for human feelings. I know a few cats I have had in that past that are a prime example. One in particular was a very sweet, black and white kitty named Cow Kitty. What a great cat. She would be right by your side if you were sick. She would lay there the whole time, making sure you knew that it would be okay and you would soon feel better, even if it were for a few hours, or a few days!
Our two little kitties are such fun. They love to cuddle... especially Jerry. They both like snuggling up at night, or through out the day. They keep me from going crazy in this apartment. Very affectionate are these two.
I am really really sick today, sore and swollen throat, throbbing headache and a terrible achy body... and guess who is right here to keep me company... Lil Jerry. I'm sure Jordan would love to cuddle too but I'd rather not get him sick as well. Its a terrible feeling being sick. Oh man. Its not fun.

Today our good friend George invited us to an ASU football game.

It was so fun to get out of our little apartment for a while!

The game went very well for the Sundevils, not so much for UCLA... the game ended with the defense scoring back to back intercepting touch downs!

George pretty much lost his voice by the end of the game, as for me and Jordan, well we don't usually like to be LOUD, but we did clapped and stand up at the moments of excitement.... If I tried screaming or hollering for my team it would be like a normal tone to people! (if you know me, I am pretty quite when I talk haha)

Anyway, it was fun, and hopefully we can make it to another game sometime!

Turkey Day....

Happy Thanksgiving! Jordan and I are far from home and sure did miss our families this holiday... But it was great to have a friend to spend it with. We ate with our friend Lina and her family. There was turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, ham, cheesecake and mini pecan pies for desert and the main course was Vietnamese food... (Lina and family are Vietnamese). It was very good, I would definitely eat it again. After dinner we played Rock Band on the PlayStation. It was quite fun, Jordan rocked the guitar, Lina and me as well, and her little brother Harrison is amazing on the drums. We didn't have the singer though, the mic was broken. (too bad, that would have been a blast!) Our evening ended with a movie on the laptop while the kitties snuggled up with us on the couch. It was a great day.

Jordan and I had a pretty crazy summer! Working a job like summer sales is not always easy but we try to manage with all the different trials it brings us. It always seems to work out in the end. Can ya believe we have lived in 5 different states since we were married!? (NY, MN, WI x 2, MI, AZ x 2) Hopefully this sales job will be a bit more long term here in Arizona! We both enjoy seeing the different parts of the country... don't get me wrong, driving cross country, here or there, from one state to another, is not so much fun, but just experiencing it together has had its rewards!
That's why it was so nice to visit home for a while. No xbox 360 with the guys, no sitting around being so bored you just stare at the wall, just lots of fun, games, motorcycle rides, yummy food and the occasional presidential debate conversations with family! And we got there just in time for Halloween, which was so much fun.

Jordan and I are currently looking for a home here in Arizona, so wish us good luck! We had our first "outing" with the realtor today. We had a pretty successful house hunt today and hopefully can find something we like soon... man it makes me feel old, yet I'm just 22. but the thought of actually owning our own home is crazy. I guess that just part of growing up!

Here's little Roque (row-kee) Biesterveld-Duenas! Also known as Meklo. It's nearing his 2nd birthday (Sept. 23rd) and I know family has been anxious to see pics! Linda sends me pictures on my phone quite often so I thought i'd post them on here!!

Linda, Rj and Roque are doing well. Linda and Rj are working full time, living in Killeen and have their hands full with this little ball of energy! Oh boy does he love to talk. Whether it's on the phone, at the grocery store, or just anyone close by that can hear him! Mainly it's a bunch of gibberish but its fun to play along and have silly conversations with him on the phone. Their busy schedules didn't make time for the family reunion this year, but hopefully next time will work out! I can't wait to see them again--- Hopefully Jordan and I can make it down to Texas on our way to Arizona.

The two newest additions to our little family... Tom and Jerry. For a week I could not think of suitable names for these two lil guys but Jordan thought of Tom and Jerry. I think they fit well because Tom, being bigger than Jerry, was a big bully, always trying to wrestle with his little bro... even when he was trying to sleep! Poor Jerry had no time to rest, but now they coordinate their little kitty schedules and sleep the same time, and eat, and play! They are inseparable!

They both LOVE to play in and on grocery bags! They must love the feel or the loud crunching of the bags... so every time i go grocery shopping, and throw all the bags on the floor and they go crazy- jumping from one to another, going in and out, trying to catch one another...

Tom must have been weaned too earlier because he has a little suckling problem. I thought it was cute at first but every time we go to bed, there is Tom and his sucking, sucking, sucking away on our blanket.

I can't believe its been one year already! I am sooo thankful for Jordan. He is really an amazing person. I could never do what he does for a living, knocking door to door, shut down one after another, and still manage to be positive and such fun.

Our cake was made by Jordan's mom... it was very unique and made special for everyone to enjoy! The "cutting" cake was, to our surprise, green inside to go with our purple and green theme... We just got back from BYU-Idaho and Jordan and I had some serious thoughts of getting married... we knew we didn't want to wait, and Jordan had plans of heading out to Minnesota for a new job. To tell you a little about us, we dated for about 3 years before getting married *high school sweethearts, i guess you would say*
Our ceremony was at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Fayette, NY on March 30, 2007.

We both like to play tennis, Jordan is awesome! I had the chance to coach and play at BYU-Idaho for a summer. It was a great experience. Jordan loves basketball and is even better at that!! As for me well, I lack the eye, hand, foot, body coordination!! We enjoy games... ie Ticket to Ride, Acquire, Stratego, and the infamous "Slap Game" :)

We currently live in Arizona, working and loving the weather. New York is great but Jordan and I cannot survive the cold! Snow is pretty but it sure doesn't like me!! We are whimps when it comes to 40 degrees or below!!
